Ye Jianjun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, attended the ceremony and gave a speech. Pang Chunjie, President of the Shandong Report Literature Society, elaborated on the creative process of the collection and shared interpretations.
Ye Jianjun stated that the collection "The Five Flavors of Home and Country" showcases the spirit of Weichai craftsmen who strive for excellence, are dedicated and focused, pursue excellence, and are brave in innovation. It praises the noble ideological realm of Weichai craftsmen in the new era who take responsibility for the country and contribute to the enterprise. We should tell good model stories, fully leverage the radiating, exemplary, and driving roles of model craftsmen, and actively create a strong atmosphere where "everyone respects craftsmen, everyone cares for craftsmen, and everyone strives to be a craftsman"; we should enhance the craftsman brand, focus on improving the skills and quality of industrial workers, and build a team of knowledgeable, skilled, and innovative craftsman technicians that matches the needs of developing new quality productive forces; we should strengthen organizational guarantees, implement more good policies, good resources, and good services to the grassroots front line, allowing skilled craftsmen to work comfortably, energetically, and effectively, continuously enhancing the sense of gain, happiness, achievement, and security of frontline workers.
The collection "The Five Flavors of Home and Country" consists of 258,000 words, created by 18 well-known writers from the Shandong Report Literature Society. Through field research and one-on-one close interviews with more than 20 Weichai craftsmen, R&D personnel, marketing teams, etc., it took half a year to complete. The book integrates thoughtfulness, storytelling, and humanistic care, making it a powerful work that combines report literature and craftsman narratives in the new era.
