Law enforcement patrol boats will have common problems such as water leakage and discoloration of the rubber shell, so how to deal with them and what are the reasons?

1. The color change, blistering and black spots of the rubber shell on the surface of the law enforcement boat: due to the instability of the curing agent ratio at different times during the local repair construction, or the color difference of the rubber shell of different batches, it will cause the external glue in the future. The color change of the shell (dark and light color difference, yellowing), especially on dark plastic shells, is easy to occur. Failure to completely eliminate tiny bubbles and dust particles during lamination will cause blistering and black spots on the outer shell in the future.

There are three ways to deal with it:

a. Color difference: polish off the surface rubber shell layer, re-coat the same type of rubber shell, water polish to #1000 or above sandpaper, and then polish and wax to complete, during production and repair, the curing agent must be controlled according to the manufacturer’s recommendations Add amount.

b. Foaming: Chisel off the rubber shell layer at the bubbling/black spots, repaint the rubber shell of the same model, water-grind to #1000 or above sandpaper, then polish and wax to finish.

c. If there are deep bubbling or black spots; dig it to the end, then fill in the recessed part with scrap felt and build-up resin. After curing is completed, repaint the same type of rubber shell and water mill to #1000 or above Sandpaper is polished and waxed to finish.

2. Cracking at the junction between the hull and deck of the law enforcement patrol boat: Most of the accidental collisions during use will cause cracks at the junction of the gunwale (hull and deck).

There are two ways to deal with it:

a. Small local collisions; remove the side fender bead to refit the glass fiber reinforced plastic, use structural glue and bolts to re-fix, and then the reinforcement/repair is completed.

b. Large-scale collisions; please find the dealer to arrange professional repairs.

3. The cracking of the surface rubber shell at the junction of the hull, deck, fly bridge and FRP components of law enforcement patrol boats mostly occurs in stairs, Wet Bar, etc. The junction between a single FRP component and the main body of the deck is due to two FRP components. The combination of convex and concave corners is easy to crack at the surface of the rubber shell due to long-term use.

Treatment method: remove the excessively thick surface rubber shell layer, use felt cloth and build-up resin to reinforce it, after curing, repaint the rubber shell of the same type, water-grind to #1000 or above sandpaper, then polish and wax to finish.
