On October 14, China Yangtze Shipping Group Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement with Weichai Holding Group Co., Ltd. in Wuhan.
On October 14, China Yangtze Shipping Group Co., Ltd. and Weichai Holding Group Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement in Wuhan. Zhang Yi, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Yangtze Shipping Group, and Ma Changhai, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman, and General Manager of Weichai Group, attended the signing ceremony.
The Yangtze Shipping Group and Weichai Group signed a cooperation agreement for the batch supply of WH20 micro-spray ignited LNG engines for clean energy vessels, marking a deep cooperation in alternative energy products following the strategic cooperation agreement signed by both parties in 2021.
Zhang Yi stated that since the strategic cooperation in 2021, the Yangtze Shipping Group and Weichai Group have achieved breakthrough results in promoting the demonstration application of micro-spray ignited single-fuel LNG engines, achieving a breakthrough from 0 to 1, greatly promoting the upgrade and replacement of single-fuel engines in Yangtze River shipping vessels, leading to industry transformation. He hopes that both parties can transform their cooperation model towards full lifecycle services, establish a comprehensive strategic partnership, join forces, and jointly promote the transformation of new energy, leading high-quality development with new productive forces.
Ma Changhai stated that the Yangtze Shipping Group and Weichai Group have established a highly trusted partnership. Through continuous technological innovation and product upgrades, Weichai has completed the layout of a full range of green high-end ship power systems, with products that are efficient and reliable, helping to protect the green mountains and clear waters. Weichai Group will continue to increase investment to maintain leading engine technology and further leverage the synergistic effects of the industrial chain with the Yangtze Shipping Group to jointly promote high-quality development in the industry.
Both parties also exchanged and discussed the usage of Weichai WH20 LNG micro-spray ignited single-fuel vessels supported by the Yangtze Shipping Group. The WH20 micro-spray ignited LNG engine, currently the only single-fuel gas engine recognized by CCS and operating on 10,000-ton vessels on the Yangtze River, has been verified on actual ships, demonstrating reliable engine quality with a total operating time exceeding 11,000 hours, achieving over 20% fuel cost savings compared to traditional fuel engines.
