The following points should be noted for the spraying construction of aluminum alloy boats: Before starting the coating construction, the construction personnel should check the spray gun and adjust it to produce the ideal spray pattern. Hold the spray gun so that the spray beam is always perpendicular to the surface and maintain a uniform distance of 25 to 30 centimeters from the surface being coated to prevent the hand and brain from moving in an arc.

  1. Before the coating construction begins, the worker should check the spray gun and adjust it to produce an ideal spray pattern.

  2. Hold the spray gun so that the spray beam is always perpendicular to the surface and maintain a uniform distance of 25 to 30 centimeters from the surface being coated to prevent the hand and brain from moving in an arc.

  3. The trigger should be pulled before the nozzle is in a straight line with the edge of the surface to be coated. The trigger should be fully pressed, and the spray gun should move at a uniform speed until it reaches the other side of the object, then the trigger should be released and the fluid turned off. However, when the spray gun continues to move a distance until it returns to the return path and reaches the side of the sprayed object, the trigger should be fully pressed again, and the spray gun should continue to move past the object.

  4. When spraying, start the trigger while moving the gun, and also turn off the trigger while moving.

  5. Each spray path should be 50% wet on the previous spray path, and the paint film should be evenly covered. When spraying corners, the spray gun should be aimed at the centerline of the corner to ensure that both sides receive an even film thickness.

After the epoxy primer is fully cured (generally more than 24 hours), rough grinding should be performed (either pneumatic or electric sander can be used). Generally, use 80 #-120 # sand discs or belts for grinding, ensuring that all primer surfaces are properly ground.

  Topcoat construction

About 12 hours later, continue to apply aliphatic polyurethane topcoat. When the temperature is higher, the coating interval can be appropriately shortened. Before spraying the topcoat on the aluminum alloy boat, check that the surface is clean and remove all dust and debris from the surface to be sprayed. First, add the hardener to the main paint (the ratio according to the technical requirements of the paint manufacturer),

After mixing evenly, add an appropriate thinner. Use a spray gun with a diameter of 1.3-1.5 mm to spray, adjusting the air pressure to about 4-6 atmospheres. When spraying, the nozzle should be 25-30 cm away from the prototype surface, and the speed of the spray gun should be uniform. The spraying is done in two passes. After the first spray, wait 20-25 minutes before the second spray. During spraying, the size of the spray pattern can be adjusted according to different parts of the prototype to achieve even coverage. The cured coating can achieve a self-polishing effect on the surface.

After each coat, the surface should show no obvious dripping, pinholes, shrinkage holes, orange peel, or other phenomena. The interval between the application of two layers of paint should not exceed 15 days. Before painting, check whether the paint film has dust, oil stains, etc., and any areas with missed coating or insufficient film thickness should be repainted.
