On the morning of March 19, a cooperation symposium between Shandong Heavy Industry Group and Shandong University, as well as a strategic cooperation signing ceremony between Weichai Group and Shandong University, were held at the central campus of Shandong University. Ren Youqun, Secretary of the Party Committee of Shandong University, and Li Shucai, President of Shandong University, met with Man Shengan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, and his delegation. Li Shucai and Man Shengan attended the symposium and delivered speeches.

Ren Youqun stated that serving the national strategy and the high-quality development of the region and enterprises is the responsibility of Shandong University. Shandong University will take this signing as an opportunity to comprehensively deepen its strategic cooperation with Shandong Heavy Industry Group, jointly build innovation platforms, promote joint talent cultivation and the transformation of scientific research achievements, and provide a new paradigm of school-enterprise collaborative innovation for the construction of a strong country in education, science and technology, and talent.
Li Shucai stated that the integration of industry and education is an important practice to promote the deep integration of the education chain, talent chain, industrial chain, and innovation chain. Shandong University will focus on advanced internal combustion engine technology, new energy power, intelligent manufacturing, and other fields, exploring the rich "Weichai Model" of school-enterprise integration in the new era, accelerating the deep integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation, and providing strong support for the high-quality development of Shandong Heavy Industry Group.
Man Shengang introduced the relevant situation of Shandong Heavy Industry Group. Before the event, the delegation visited the Shandong University History Museum, the museum, and the Research and Experience Base of Traditional Chinese Culture.
Ma Changhai, member of the Party Committee and vice general manager of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, and secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of Weichai Group, and Chen Hongwei, vice secretary of the Party Committee of Shandong University, signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement on behalf of both parties. Ye Jianjun, vice secretary of the Party Committee and director of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, attended the event. Zhu Dejian, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of Shandong University, presided over the event.
