This project is China's first demonstration project for the entire chain of hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and use at sea. It can utilize offshore renewable energy to produce hydrogen off-grid, and further convert green hydrogen into ammonia and methanol, which are easier to store. These two chemical products are both clean fuels for ships and important industrial raw materials that can be widely used in chemical production and the energy sector.
In addition, the project has built China's first semi-submersible offshore hydrogen production platform, with a height of over 50 meters (equivalent to a 17-story building) and a weight of over 20,000 tons. It is expected to become an offshore fuel replenishment station for ocean-going vessels in the future, laying the foundation for China's deep-sea development of new energy resources.
The Weichai 12WH17 power generation system uses vermicular cast iron for the body and cylinder head, and forged steel for the crankshaft, resulting in high rigidity and a large safety factor; high power and high explosion pressure, significant advantages in power and reliability, lower fuel consumption and better environmental protection.
