This batch of boats consists of 6 vessels and will officially be put into operation in May next year at the Kanas Lake scenic area in Xinjiang. These new energy sightseeing boats were built by Changzhou Fiberglass Shipyard Co., Ltd., located in the Xinbei District. They are 19.7 meters long, 4.5 meters wide, and can carry 62 passengers. The entire ship uses pure electric propulsion, with a maximum speed of 21 kilometers per hour and a range of 6 hours. It is reported that the product's application scenario has a single voyage distance of about 15 kilometers, and the dock is equipped with multiple DC fast charging piles, which only require 1.5 hours for fast charging. Changzhou Fiberglass Shipyard was established in the 1970s. After decades of development, it is now affiliated with Shandong Weichai Holding Group Co., Ltd. and is the largest boat manufacturer in Changzhou. Its products include patrol boats, law enforcement vessels, sightseeing boats, etc., widely used in tourism, transportation, and public law enforcement fields. In recent years, the company's sales have achieved continuous growth, with sales reaching nearly 400 million yuan in 2021. "The research and development of new energy vessels is an important measure for us to actively respond to the national new energy policy and innovate to meet market demand under the background of 'dual carbon'." General Manager Tan Ning introduced that the company's ship research institute has mobilized key personnel to form a design team, taking 8 months to integrate multiple new industry technologies such as new energy lithium batteries, permanent magnet materials, DC busbars, and direct wing rudder propulsion into the design of the ship, focusing on control strategies, propulsion system matching, and overall lightweighting. "Compared to conventional vessels, the comprehensive propulsion efficiency has increased by 23% year-on-year, and the energy cost per voyage during operation has decreased by 78%. This not only helps customers save costs and enhances passenger experience but also eliminates problems and hidden dangers such as exhaust emissions and fuel leaks, truly achieving zero emissions." Sailing against the wind and waves, the tourism industry is moving towards a new era of green development. Our country is in an important period of energy structure adjustment, and the trend of greening and upgrading civil vessel energy, especially inland tourism passenger ships, is evident. Tan Ning stated that the company will adhere to innovative green development, strengthen the construction of an independent innovation system, and actively promote the application of new energy and clean energy technologies in the vessel field. "Our goal is to become the largest manufacturer in the domestic vessel industry for vessels under 60 meters in five years." Tan Ning said that in recent years, the company has continuously increased investment in production and research and development. A new base located in Qingdao will be put into production next year, focusing on the design and manufacturing of vessels over 30 meters and under 60 meters. "By then, the advantages of Changzhou and Qingdao will be linked, and the new energy vessel products will be richer, allowing us to contribute more to achieving the dual carbon goals of our country."
